Aleppo Pepper
The City of Aleppo, for which this pepper is named, is located in Northern Syria and is considered by many as the Mecca of Middle Eastern cooking. Ground, this red pepper is dark red and earthy with a mild, rich heat. It is used in most Syrian dishes, especially soups, salads, and fish.
