![]() | Known as "La reine des confitures" in France she is the country most prized "artisan" confiture maker. Christine Ferber produces in her small native village of Niedermorschwihr just west of Colmar in Alsace some of the best fruit preserves you will have the experience to taste. All prepared by hand in the back of the family pastry shop in small batches in copper cauldron in no more than 4 kg (8.8 lbs.) at a time, they truly reflect Christine's passion for excellence. The process starts with the best fruits, a selection from her own garden, or from local producers where only perfect fruits are selected. It extends to her dedication to have the traditional looking Grandmother's fabric and ribbon to finish her creations very patiently, one at a time. The selection depends of the fruit availability and when the batches are all gone one can only hope to be able to get their hands on the next one patiently awaiting another fruit season, and another spiced and fruit combination. |
